Welcome Home Springwood (WHS) has a vision to see a world where people with disability are safe and known, connected and growing, celebrated and loved. WHS is a new cooperative within the Supporting Independent Living Cooperative (SILC), which offers bespoke accommodation models for people with disability. Within SILC, WHS’s mission is to create a great, sustainable home and life experiences for three men, through living in stable, quality accommodation with chosen housemates of mixed ability, support staff they choose, in a location that fosters community access.

WHS seeks applicants for the role of Support Worker, who will form an integral part of the support team for the three men. Employed by SILC, you will report to the WHS House Leader. Interested in the long-term wellbeing of residents, you will work collaboratively with the House Leader and the other members of the dynamic house staff to ensure that residents are provided with active supports and are involved in decision concerning their life choices.

You will pair active listening and problem solving skills, with an ability to follow through operational reporting and implementation. With a qualification or equivalent experience in Disability Work, you will also be supportive of the Christian ethos and vision of Welcome Home Springwood.

This role is based in the lower Blue Mountains.
