Weenthunga in Woiwurrung means “hear / understand”. Weenthunga Health Network Inc. is a state-wide Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), working towards our vision of “people, communities and Country are healthy and thriving”.

Health Justice Spaces
In our health justice spaces, Weenthunga provides workshops, lectures, training, and consultancy services in health and health education settings. This includes:
- Cultural Safety and Critical Consciousness training to staff in hospitals, health services, universities and other organisations.
- Lectures, curriculum development and teacher training in universities.
- Wellbeing workshops with First Nations people in Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and other settings.
- Clinical supervision, cultural yarns and workplace coaching.
The role of the Workshops and Administration Coordinator includes responding to inquiries, preparing quotes and proposals, scheduling work, administering pre-workshop requirements and post-workshop follow-up (e.g. evaluation surveys and attendance).
key responsibilities
The Workshops and Administration Co-ordinator role (0.8FTE negotiable) is responsible for administering Weenthunga’s fee-for-service offerings, including:
- Monitoring and responding to phone and email enquiries.
- Preparing quotes and proposals for fee-for-service work.
- Working with the Weenthunga team to allocate facilitators and schedule services.
- Liaising with organisations to plan and schedule fee-for-service work (e.g. confirming location, set-up requirements, catering, travel/parking, participant details).
- Administering workshop communication with attendees (e.g. sending calendar invitations, pre-workshop information, obtaining and reviewing pre-workshop survey responses, sending in-between and post-workshop correspondence to attendees).
- Administering online ticket platform for open workshop series.
- Working closely with Weenthunga team members to ensure alignment and connections across areas of work.
- Involvement in other Weenthunga areas of work, including event attendance and facilitating workshops.
- Other duties as required.
Formal qualification
- No pre-requisite qualification, however three years or more experience in administration or related roles required
Cultural understanding
- Proven skills and experience in engaging with First Nations people and communities
- Demonstrated relationships with First Nations communities and ACCO/ACCHOs in the Metropolitan area
Personal skills
- Highly developed and demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- High level organisation and administration skills
- Self-motivated and with the ability to work autonomously
Conditions of Employment
- A current Victorian driver’s licence.
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check.
