The Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614 program consists of a team of staff and volunteers based in the City of Melbourne, who are passionate about working with those who live on the city fringes to address issues of homelessness or risks related to homelessness, mental health issues, addiction or social poverty. Connecting with many people each day, the program works to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
The Volunteer Coordinator will:
- Coordinate the volunteer program at Melbourne Project 614, including corporate engagement, volunteers, student placements, diversion placements and client participation.
- Ensure strong engagement, continued growth, participation and development of volunteers.
- Provide detailed information, training and induction sessions, including one-on-one and to large groups.
Key responsibilities include:
- Suitable recruitment and induction of volunteers and students including during major fundraising periods.
- Coordination of corporate engagement opportunities.
- Coordination and facilitation of volunteer information, induction and volunteer training sessions.
- Complete all administrative requirements of the role including database management, HR processes, audit and placement review.
- Suitable and effective rostering of volunteers.
- Provide reports regarding volunteer matters including trends.
- Engagement, support and participation in administrative and program functions at Melbourne Project 614.
- Effectively and appropriately represent Melbourne Project 614 through participation at conferences, meetings and forums as required.
The successful candidate:
- Will have experience in managing, growing and developing programs, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
- Will have a calm, focussed and optimistic approach to work and an ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Will ensure that the values of The Salvation Army are instilled and upheld across all Melbourne Project 614 programs.
- Will have excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Will be competent in Microsoft suite of IT programs.
- Will have a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (desirable).
Successful candidates must consent to a police check and hold a current WWCC.
