The Homelessness Specialist provides specialist knowledge and expertise in Homelessness practice to support service delivery across Australia.

The position will:

  • Assist in the development of national frameworks and service delivery models
  • Develop processes or procedures that facilitate consistent best practice service delivery
  • Resource the implementation of service delivery models
  • Develop materials or collateral that supports practice
  • Coordinate and facilitate communities of practice

This position is a member of the Homelessness stream leadership team and will contribute to national plans, frameworks and practice to ensure innovative and client centered service delivery to meet current and future needs
The successful candidate will need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
  • Experience in social and community services programs including program management in Homelessness
  • Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within the Homelessness sector
  • Experience in translating high level strategy into practice at a service level
  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and relevant experience,
  • Post graduate qualification would be highly regarded

The successful candidate will be required to complete a police check as part of their onboarding, and will need to provide a valid Working with Children Check.
