About the Program
Flagstaff AOD, located at Flagstaff Accommodation, operates a primarily harm-reduction service focusing on engaging residents of Flagstaff and The Open Door around safer using practices, providing psycho-education and information on safer practices and health promotion and facilitating access to the mainstream drug treatment service system. The program also delivers Care & Recovery Coordination courses of treatment to residents of the facility. The annual target for these is 40 courses.
About the Role
To provide a range of AOD interventions to residents of Homelessness Accommodation Services Flagstaff &The Open Door, including:
- Provision of evidence-based Brief Interventions and Care & Recovery Coordination (CRC)
- Assistance to clients to access and navigate mainstream AOD treatment
- Facilitation of evidence-based, therapeutic AOD groups and delivery of group work
- Provision and promotion of an in-house Harm Reduction strategy and system, including maintenance of a secondary NSP
- Contribution to the development and maintenance of an AOD information and data collection system
About You
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated:
- Skills in delivering clinical & evidence based AOD interventions to adult men with complex needs including dual diagnosis
- Knowledge of the AOD sector including harm reduction and treatment services
- Experience and/or understanding of the working within homelessness context
- Relevant experience and/or tertiary qualifications in Community Services including AOD Cert 4 min quals or willingness to undertake
