The role

We are seeking a Web Developer to cover a part time maternity leave position on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Working within the Digital team, the Web Developer’s overall objective is to support and assist the Digital team in creating a seamless digital experience for all Supply Nation stakeholders.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing development for new designs as per requirements, providing optimised solutions that can scale, maintaining and supporting all the themes and template of the current websites, ensuring digital assets are managed and issues are resolved, and optimising the online experience and engagement of our stakeholders.

  • Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business
  • Have 3-5 years Word Press development experience
  • Have a good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Are comfortable working with debugging tools like Chrome inspector
  • Have the ability to understand CSS changes and ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Have the ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Have a strong understanding of PHP back-end development and WordPress plugin development
  • Have knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs
  • Have a proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Butbucket

Demonstrated understanding of the Indigenous business sector, and previous experience working on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander issues/projects will be highly regarded.

Suitably qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
