About the role

Penrith Women’s Health Centre (PWHC) is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Manager - Women’s Safety and Empowerment Services to work from our new health and wellbeing social enterprise hub in Lethbridge Street Penrith.

As the name suggests, we work from an approach which focussing more explicitly on the outcomes that services aim to achieve (safety and resilience), rather than the problem they are aimed to address (i.e., domestic and family violence).

The role manages a small team of dedicated and highly capable Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Case Managers whose work is guided by the various national, state and local plans to reduce violence against women and their children by providing a range of safety and empowerment services and supports including with a focus on security and resilience.

We are looking for an applicant with strong financial management and grant acquittal capability due to the number of funding streams which support the positions in this team and responsibility to manage brokerage funds.

As at January 2023, the services provided by this team are funded under our DVF Support Service (DVPASS), SHLV, Family Safety and other funding streams. Services are provided through a client-focused, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, evidence-based approach to service delivery, whereby family safety specialist employees will be able to offer clients any or all of the full range of DV services that PWHC is funded to provide.

More details about the position are listed below:

  • Full-time - 38 hours per week, with flexible work arrangements which means there is an option to work a 9 or 10 day fortnight and negotiate some days working from home;
  • Fixed-term - the role is funded through to 30 June 2025, with expectation that the position will be extended subject to confirmation of ongoing funding;
  • Incorporates a part-time client case load.

It is a condition of employment in the role that the successful applicant is vaccinated for COVID-19 and will comply with PWHC’s COVID safe plans.

PWHC has recently relocated to new premises in Lethbridge Street, and are in the process of establishing a beautifully renovated health and wellbeing social enterprise hub for women in the Penrith area.

The premises will soon offer a range of indoor and outdoor spaces, site-wide wifi, hot-desks, onsite-café/meeting/wellness centre where you can connect with colleagues, and where clients can access a range of safety and empowerment services, and health and wellbeing services, in a fresh, safe, convenient, inviting and empowering environment. The site has easy access to all-day parking and public transport.

The organisation has undergone considerable change in the past 18 months, including an organisational restructure and a complete digital transformation embracing a range of the latest cloud-based software applications which enables our team members to work smarter, not harder, and reach more clients in need of our services.
