At its core NPY Women’s Council is about family and community – Walytja. Our purpose is to work with women, children and their families of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara region in central Australia. Our role is to work side by side and help increase their capacity to lead safe and healthy lives with improved life choices.

Atunypa Wiru Minyma Uwankaraku’ Service is a domestic and family violence support and advocacy service for Aboriginal women and children living in the NPY region. The service is informed by a holistic relational understanding of violence that acknowledges the key role of family and community relationships in working effectively with indigenous clients.

We are now recruiting for a Coordinator to join the DFVS team. In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision and support of a small team of caseworkers. You will oversee client services, integrated case management and actively assist caseworkers within your team with the management of complex clients in the broader service system. This position will also participate in the leadership group within the service so experience in managing people and collaborating with peers on projects and strategic initiatives would be desirable.

The ideal person will have knowledge and previous experience working in Domestic and Family Violence, a relevant qualification such as Social Work, Community Development or Leadership and an interest in working for a community service organisation.

Ideally, you will also have knowledge or an interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cross-cultural environments.
