About us

Narang Bir-rong Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) is an ever expanding organisation with a strong focus on making a change for the Aboriginal community.

NBAC provides Family Support Services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the Western Sydney/Nepean Blue Mountains as well as Out of Home Care placements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people who cannot remain at home due to abuse and/or neglect.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to work for NBAC. The position is based at one of our Penrith offices within the Western Sydney area.

Tasks & responsibilities

This role is the first point of contact for clients and stakeholders of the organisation and as such needs someone who shares our values of wanting to provide a high quality service to the Aboriginal community. You will need have a happy and enthusiastic outlook to the position. The purpose of the position is to provide the organisation with day to day administration duties and to be proactive in providing the program area teams with support.

  • We work a 35 hour week. Which means you are flexible with your working hours and work a 7 hour day between 8am – 6pm with a 30 minute lunch break. This could mean you start at 9:30am and finish at 5pm or start at 9am and finish at 4:30pm!

Qualifications & experience

  • Aboriginality, is a genuine qualification under the Anti Discrimination Act.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
  • Qualifications or experience in the area of administration area.
  • Experience in book keeping and financial management systems such as Xero or MYOB.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs.
  • Mature outlook and well-developed communication skills.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Current NSW driver’s license and use of a registered passenger vehicle.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, employ initiative to find solutions, prioritise and exercise discretion.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and administration skills
  • Ability to liaise at an executive level and work under pressure.
  • Cleared NSW Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Must be a resident of New South Wales.
  • Available for after-hours work.
  • Hold a current NSW Driver’s License.
