NBHLHD’s Counselling and Case Support Stream includes Child Protection Counselling Service, Sexual Assault (and Domestic Violence) Service, Joint Child Protection and Response Service and the Child and Family Psychosocial Counselling Service. The services within this stream are responsible for strategic leadership, clinical service provision and capacity building for the portfolio areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, child protection, children under 10 with problematic and harmful sexualised behaviours and victims of crime. Providing generalist counselling services for children and families within the NBMLHD, the service also provides District coordination, triage and service delivery for children under ten with problematic harmful sexualised behaviours and their families (the Safe Wayz Program).
We're seeking applications from committed and dynamic mental health professionals who are keen to join the team, who can bring demonstrated expertise with vulnerable people, mental health, violence abuse and domestic violence.

Ideally, you will be committed and dynamic mental health professional who is keen to demonstrate experience with vulnerable people, mental health, violence abuse and domestic violence. Moreover, as a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist or Social Worker, you will bring specialist clinical experience, knowledge and understanding of best practice models, trauma informed approaches and clinical lenses for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
Keen to lead change, provide expert advice, develop and implement integrated models of care that are person- centre, you will utilise your dedicated network and leadership skills coupled with the capacity to develop and maintain high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders with a focus on improving collaboration and service partnerships.
This role will see you capitalise on your flair for communication (verbal & written) as well as the ability to lead research and quality improvement projects within the service and across the District.
This opportunity would suit a registered Psychologist /Social Worker who has demonstrated expertise working with vulnerable clients that is looking to actively contribute to the translation of and development of professional knowledge. Additionally, you will have effective time management and attention to detail, with current AHPRA Registration. Note that additional experience/capability from the Alcohol and Drug sector will be considered as advantageous.
