Longbeach PLACE Inc. works closely with a broad cross-section of local residents and community groups in Chelsea, creating an inclusive environment within the City of Kingston and its neighbouring suburbs. Longbeach PLACE Inc. responds to community needs by providing a range of structured educational programs, social activities, and special interest support groups. The programs and activities are developed through community consultation and are delivered by qualified facilitators and/or volunteers, who provide practical opportunities for lifelong learning skills development, wellbeing, and social activities.
Diploma in Community Services and/or tertiary qualifications in marketing or advertising. Current Police Check. Working with Children Check. First Aid Certificate and CPR qualifications.
Customer Service and reception duties, administration, marketing and communication.
Demonstrated understanding of the Neighbourhood House sector and its values. Demonstrated skills in developing and delivering Marketing and Communication Plans in a community setting. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent digital skills and knowledge (developing an online presence through social media engagement). Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment utilising time management skills. Ability to work with others and manage conflict effectively. Strong decision making, effective communication and negotiation skills, problem solving skills, demonstrated qualities of empathy, inclusiveness and community awareness. Highly developed skills in the use of Microsoft Office and preparedness to use and learn other relevant software.
Hours of Work: The position is 12 hours per week. Flexibility may be required for events and programs that require staff involvement.
