Guide Dogs NSW/ACT have finalised the integrated digital customer strategy and is looking for an experienced Digital Communications Specialist to join our team.
The role will play a pivotal part in implementing the digital communications strategy across multiple platforms (web, voice, mobile) and connecting our Clients with services, programs, events and relevant information.
The Digital Communications Specialist is a communications all-rounder with strong writing skills. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, you will develop high-quality communications and written digital content.
Responsibilities include:
- The main focus of this role is developing written content and communications for voice channels like Alexa.
- Draft, develop and edit written communications that are audience-focused and well-structured within tight timeframes, suitable for digital channels like voice, web, social, email, etc.
- Assist with content development for national social media channels and CatchUp where advised including community management and writing (this is a small part of the role).
- Edit and approve social media content on behalf of national social media team (this is a small part of the role).
- Develop and manage the implementation of promotional activity across a range of channels (Spotify, youtube, social, PR etc) for CatchUp.
- Work with the Brand team to develop written content for a range of audiences and digital channels such as fact sheets, Electronic Direct Mail, display materials, newsletters, presentations and other marketing activities like video scripting, on an ad hoc basis.
- Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders through effective communication.
About You
- You are passionate and committed to using your digital, communication and campaign skills to support people with low vision or blindness.
- You are a strong writer and communications professional, preferably with journalism, content creation or editorial experience.
- Demonstrated experience producing written communications for a range of digital channels including voice.
- Strong content and editorial skills including developing and implementing a content strategy.
- Proven experience with developing bespoke content optimised for digital channels including content developing, posting, monitoring digital content and using analytics to drive content ideas and optimisations.
- Proven ability to work proactively and liaise with various stakeholders to produce impactful projects and information.
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline is required and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask/work across numerous activities at any given time.
- You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- You will be a strategic, creative forward thinker who keeps abreast of what is happening in the digital landscape.
- High accuracy of work and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem-resolution experience.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to use initiative.
Desirable
- Experience working with external agencies
- Proficiency with Wordpress, Alexa Developer and social media analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics.
