The Local Jobs Program (LJP) Support Officer is a full-time role (until June 2025) engaged to support the Employment Facilitator in the delivery of the Local Jobs Program. The LJP Support Officer will enable the wider communities engagement with the LJP, supporting jobseekers to connect with local employment and training opportunities.

The LJP Support Officer will provide support to the local Jobs and Skills Taskforce, including ongoing membership, coordination, and administrative support. The LJP Support Officer will support the generation of targeted activities and the organisations funded under the Local Recovery Fund to maximise employment opportunities within the Sydney North and West Employment Region.

It’s a role like no other, you will:

  • Build a huge network of stakeholders from all levels & industries
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of what's happening in the labour market locally
  • Engage with local employment service providers regularly
  • Maintain membership of our working groups including acting as chair on occasion
  • Brainstorm ideas for projects and connect stakeholders to carry them out
  • Manage two diaries - schedule meetings & associated admin

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a business development or project coordination role
  • Experience in Employment Services, Registered Training Organisations, or other Government Programs
  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders with competing priorities
  • Ability to develop well written proposals and other professional documents
  • Experience coordinating meetings and events- inc. agendas, minutes, actions etc.
  • Strong administrative skills
  • A current unrestricted drivers license & the ability to travel across the Sydney North and West employment region
  • The ability for some inter and intra state travel
  • Current Criminal History, and Working with Children's Checks (or willing to obtain as part of interview process)

Further Information 

Applicants should be based within the Sydney North and West Employment Region.

Some work from home is an option however there will be a requirement to work from varied locations across the entire region as required.

This position is offering a total salary package between $80,000 - $90,000 per annum inclusive of super contribution.
