Edmund Rice Education Australia Youth+(EREA Youth+) is a network of flexible learning centres that offer young people an opportunity to reconnect with education in a setting that is inclusive and flexible. With a focus on literacy and numeracy, all programming and learning activities are developed based on young people’s individual learning plans which are differentiated based on learning levels and what they require to re-engage.

About the Opportunity

EREA Youth+ now has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Secondary Teacher to join the team at St Joseph's Catholic Flexible Learning Centre in Alice Springs. This is a full-time contract position commencing January, 2020.

Reporting to the Co-Campus Principals and the Network Principal, this role will see you responsible for implementing teaching strategies that cater to the needs of secondary-aged students who have disengaged from mainstream education, encouraging a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining learning and social inclusion responses of the campus, including:

1. Planning, preparation and delivery of engaging learning and teaching programs for young people in both middle and senior phases of secondary education;
2. Contributing to the development and implementation of the FLC’s objectives and planning; and
3. Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration circa $75,000 - $105,000, based on your experience level (in line with the Catholic Schools (Northern Territory) Collective Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021) plus super.

Please note: Prior to commencement, you must obtain an OCHRE Card (NT Working with Children Clearance). This role requires regular travel around Alice Springs, including transporting students, and as such, a Current Unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence is essential, with Light Rigid highly regarded.
