Are you an excellent communicator with a passion for making a difference? Due to an internal secondment we require a new team member. As a peak body, DVNSW is the thought leader in the Domestic and Family Violence sector, responsible for driving systemic change across society and governments and supporting our members through advocacy and capacity building. With over 150 members, we work as a collaborative and passionate team to end gendered violence across the state. Aligned to our 2021-2024 Strategic Plan, this position will help us grow our voice and reach and would suit someone who understands the DFV sector and shares our vision of women, families and communities in NSW living free from violence, having equal rights, equal opportunities and the freedom to reach their potential.

THE ROLE

The role of the Communications Coordinator is to coordinate all aspects of the internal and external communications, to promote a positive image of DVNSW as thought leaders. This role would suit an energetic and experienced media and communications expert who has held similar roles working in the Not-For-Profit Sector. As a short-term role the successful candidate will need to be able to hit the ground running and, with the support of the team, achieve the organisations communications objectives. Well organised, exceptional time management, excellent written and oral communication skills will be critical for success in this role that includes:

  • Deliver to the organisation’s internal and external communications strategy
  • Media (traditional and social) engagement and coordination
  • Member engagement and communication
  • Key Stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Campaign coordination
  • Brand management
