Your next opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and motivated HR Generalist to join our small People and Culture team based in our head office at Hazelbrook. You will be partnering with managers and employees across all parts of this diverse organisation. You will be making an important contribution to the delivery of the People and Culture Strategy through the strong relationships and engagement you can build in an organisation of around 140 staff. This role supports all employee lifecycle stages, including recruitment and onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, Work Health and Safety, learning and development, change management, and industrial relations compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice and development support to stakeholders, ensuring that all activities and processes are conducted in accordance with legislative and policy frameworks and are consistent with Connect Children and Families requirements.
  • Participate in developing, delivering and implementing projects and initiatives identified in the People Strategy and Plan, including organisational culture and change management.
  • Work with people managers to ensure performance and development review processes are in place and, where required, undertake case management, including for unsatisfactory work performance, absenteeism, workplace complaints, grievances and disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, providing advice that facilitates recruitment outcomes aligned to the identified workforce capabilities and attributes required for each role.
  • Actively promote People and Culture initiatives within Connect through information sharing, staff training and stakeholder consultation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by documenting and communicating all systems and processes to the broader organisation.

You’ll be great in this role

You have a degree in Human Resource Management and 3 or more years’ experience as an HR adviser or business partner, along with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, productive working relationships.

You have strong professional knowledge and experience of contemporary HR practices, including change management, industrial agreements, employment legislation, and HR/ER case management.

  • Provide support in the coordination and implementation of significant People and Culture improvement projects in a complex environment
  • Conduct HR analytics to identify and report trends and actionable insights that meet business objectives

  • Liaise with subject matter experts to develop and deliver positive business outcomes
  • Effectively and efficiently use the Microsoft Office suite
