About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Community Support Worker to work within our Garden Services team. The role will see you mentoring and supporting people with disabilities with their work skills to continue to foster their skills and strengths and develop meaningful engagement within community environments. Key to the success of this role is developing a professional and quality relationship, providing support, encouragement, and enhancement of life for the people we support.

  • Enthusiastic, passionate, empathetic, and supportive of people with disabilities to live great lives
  • The ability to work in a team with excellent communication skills
  • Outcomes focused
  • Proactive and persistent
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and the maturity and ability to deal with unexpected situations
  • Time management and work organisational skills
  • Experience using gardening equipment such as, a lawn mower and whipper snipper.
  • Sound knowledge in garden maintenance.
  • Self-directed and confident in own abilities
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a range of clients and their families and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Understanding of disabilities and the ability to effectively work with various behaviours.
  • Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards
  • Above average computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Disability, Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability or Aging Support, or equivalent is desirable
  • Current Australian driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Have a current or willingness to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening check
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Modules
