LiKe a challenge and want to make a difference? We are currently looking for Male Support Workers whom have experience with Challenging Behaviour to support our client in Supported Living. The work requires remaining focussed for very active shifts and remaining patient, kind and consistent if the client displays challenging behaviour. Qualifications are an essential but previous experience working in support work and demonstration of a kind and mature nature is far more important.

You will be working one-on-one with a mature male client who likes Cricket, AFL & Rugby League and music and is also good with IT. In order to best support our client, the successful incumbent for this position must have experience in Behaviour Management and be able to demonstrate that in the interview process. You will also be required to do sleepover shifts, work weekends and be flexible with working arrangements.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 12 months experience working within the disability and or mental health fields
  • Experience working with complex support needs including challenging behaviours
  • Minimum Certificate III Individual Support (Disability) and willing to obtain Certificate IV
  • General understanding and awareness of WH&S
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • A current driver’s license and reliable, roadworthy vehicle.
  • Current NDIS Workers Screening Blue & Yellow Card

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • Certificate IV in Disability, Mental Health or higher
  • Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Recovery Experience.

Work is in the client’s home. Clients will present with very complex support needs and may present with dual diagnosis.

You will be paid under the (SCHADS)Award Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
