Yemaya Women’s Support Service is seeking a suitably experienced woman to undertake this position which is exempt from the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas).7
The position will require you to work within a feminist framework, be cognisant of the gender imbalances that underlie abuse perpetrated against women and possess strong interpersonal skills.
The worker will proactively engage in community education to develop greater awareness in relation to domestic violence.
The skills to liaise with the media, community groups, schools and other relevant organisations are paramount.
The worker will have the skills and experience to co-facilitate specialist therapeutic group work programs.
The ability to facilitate projects are important aspects of this role as is the ability to identify funding sources, apply for grants and to undertake one on one counselling when necessary.
