We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our team at the WA AIDS Council as Inclusive Education Western Australia (IEWA) Project Lead.

IEWA is a resource for Western Australian schools that supports school communities to be safer and more inclusive for same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse students, school staff and families. The project delivers training and professional development sessions to school staff across WA, and provides resources, support and guidance to schools, staff, families, carers and students. 

You will need excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills; experience in delivering training to professionals; and a level of maturity, understanding and empathy to provide support and advice to young LGBTIQ+ people, their families, schools, school staff and wider stakeholders.

About Us

The WA AIDS Council is a non-government organisation committed to the HIV response in Western Australia. The Council leads the Western Australian community in the provision of a wide range of services in the prevention of HIV, sexually transmitted infections and blood borne viruses, and the treatment and care of people living with HIV and AIDS. We also provide counselling and support for LGBTIQ+ people.

About the Role

The position is:

  • Permanent part-time 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week)
  • Remunerated at Social and Community Services (WA) Interim Award 2011 - Level 5
  • Requires some evening work, and may occasionally require weekend work and intrastate travel.
