About the Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and working closely with other Case Managers and Field Officers, you will provide immediate support and assistance to workers in the building and construction industry by listening to their needs and connecting them to appropriate service providers that can help further. Whilst this role is Brisbane based, you may be required to provide further support to other Case Managers nationally. This role exists within a dynamic and reactive environment, and to be successful you will need to have a positive attitude, an adaptable mindset and an ability to operate as part of a collaborative and hard working team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess workers needs and issues and develop an appropriate plan
  • Refer workers to services which can assist them
  • Oversee the quality, responsiveness and availability of service providers
  • Perform immediate crisis intervention
  • Answer 1300 helpline support calls
  • Establish new and manage existing relationships with external service providers
  • Work collaboratively with other Case Managers and Field Officers nationally
  • Maintain regular case management records
  • Provide site support through critical incidents or postvention

Skills & Experience required

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology, along with demonstrated experience in case management
  • You will possess in-depth knowledge of mental health
  • A willingness to work with the existing ASIST intervention model
  • A flexible and mature mindset, along with a calm, even-measured approach towards working in a reactive environment
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage your own priorities

It delivers several training programs to various construction organisations that aim to raise awareness about suicide in the workplace, and to make it easy to access help and ensure that assistance is delivered practically, professionally and appropriately.
