Vicky’s Place is a young women’s refuge that provides supported crisis accommodation for young women aged 16 to 24, and their children, who are homeless. Young women stay at Vicky’s Place for an average of 6 weeks, in which time they are supported to find more suitable, stable long-term accommodation.
24 hour support is provided including sleep over shifts and weekend shifts.
The Refuge Youth Worker will assist with providing structured support, assessment and referral to young people and their children within the program and providing assistance to access appropriate accommodation options particularly youth housing, family reconciliation, private rental and public housing.
We are seeking applicants who have a qualification in Youth work, Welfare Studies or related fields and/or have demonstrated experience in working with homeless young people. A clear understanding of working within a case management framework including client assessment and intake processes will also be highly regarded.
This position invites only female candidates due to the nature of the refuge.
