The position

The RACGP’s Education Services pillar opens its governance structures to representation from working GPs, experts in the education, training and assessment of GPs and consumer representatives who provide valuable input to decision making and development of our policies and programs.

We are looking for an Education Councils and Committees Officer to coordinate the effective operation and governance of its councils and committees. The position offers the opportunity to work with managers and team members in Education Services, as well as leaders in the field of general practice education. It is an ideal position from which to gain an understanding of the different operational areas across Education Services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordinating and prioritising the production of documentation including minutes and meeting papers prior to and following council and committee meetings.
  • Attendance at council and committee meetings
  • Contributing to the development, management and continuous improvement of systems and processes within the council and committee business area.
  • Developing and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for the Education councils and committees and the RACGP Censor in Chief including travel, accommodation, payments, access to documentation, meeting invitations and arrangements, and budgeting.

The candidate

You will be a team player with strong writing skills especially in the production and drafting of minutes, agendas, meeting papers and financial records. Excellent stakeholder engagement and credibility in working with committees and stakeholders combined with strong planning and organisational skills will see your success in the role. Prior work experience in a health related organisation, with council co-ordination, committee management, government or an education and training environment would be highly regarded.

What’s in it for you?

You will be joining a high-profile health and education organisation where progressive leadership, innovation, integrity, collaboration and accountability is valued. Benefits of working at the RACGP include 13.5% superannuation, easy access to public transport at a great location opposite the MCG, annual leave loading, additional leave over the Christmas and New Year period and discounts to a large range of retailers.
