We currently have two full time positions available to join our teams that predominantly investigate and facilitate financial services disputes. Happy to consider four days.

About CIO

Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO) is an independent dispute resolution scheme in the financial services industry, approved by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). 

Key responsibilities 

  • Investigate dispute cases
  • Identify and apply applicable laws, industry codes of practice, and relevant conduct standards to issues in the dispute
  • Actively facilitate negotiations between parties
  • Prepare written decisions of dispute cases

Qualifications, skills and experience 

  • A law degree, with at least 1-5 years relevant post-admission experience (in dispute resolution) or equivalent financial sector industry experience.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex legal and financial concepts in Plain English
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed analytical and investigative skills
  • Sound decision-making skills and balanced judgement
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability and focus to meet and exceed KPIs/targets
