The School of Medicine is known for its innovation and excellence in health research, education and service. The school offers a postgraduate medical program, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs and courses in public health, environmental health, health services management, First Peoples’ health and paramedicine that have been developed to serve the needs of South East Queensland, Australia and the international community. The focus of the school is to produce graduates who, through application of knowledge and skills, are able to develop a commitment to service, teamwork, scientific inquiry and lifelong learning.
The position leads the provision of high quality learning, teaching, assessment and curriculum development in the areas of general practice and Primary Health Care within the School of Medicine. The principal program to which contributions will be provided by this role is the graduate entry medical program. This position also aims to increase the range, quality and productivity of general practice and Primary Health Care research in the School of Medicine. It provides significant opportunities for further career development for a senior general practice academic.
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Gold Coast campus with travel to the Sunshine Coast campus.
The successful candidate will have a primary medical qualification and registration as a specialist in general practice. In addition, the appointee will be a recognised research leader with a significant track record in peer-reviewed publications and grant success in areas relevant to primary and integrated care. Substantial clinical experience in general practice and related disciplines will be essential.
Associate Professor, Level D: $139,183 - $153,337 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $162,844 - $179,404 per annum.
Professor, Level E: $179,288 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $209,766 per annum.
