Based at Ipswich, the Youth Worker – Get Set for Work works within a strength based case management and life skills development framework to assist young people enter into employment, training or in some cases back into education. The Get Set for Work is a program centred on employment; participants in the program will be aged 15-19 years.

You will focus on participant recruitment, engagement, completion of external accredited training and transition into employment, as well as post-placement support to assist young people to achieve sustainable employment outcomes. You will also be responsible for the day to day running of the program, life skills workshop delivery, completing case notes and regular reporting.

This is a full time fixed term position until 30 August 2019.

About you

You will have at least 4 years demonstrated experience in the provision of case work services for highly disadvantaged young people; or certificate/diploma level qualifications in a relevant field with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. You will have proven ability to build rapport with and motivate young people; along with a good understanding of the local labour market, barriers to employment and underlying issues faced by disadvantaged young people.

Your ability to build effective working relationships with employers, host organisations and jobseekers will see you secure rewarding and sustainable employment opportunities for our young people. You will have a track record of delivering creative solutions based on your awareness of the challenges to employment for young people and the cultural differences and diversity in the workplace.
