The Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) is a for-purpose, environmental organisation that protects nature on private land. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator operates within the Philanthropy and Engagement Team to ensure that the TLC has a visible profile both in Tasmania and nationally. The position is responsible for contributing to the expansion of the TLC supporter base through actively promoting TLC programs, activities and campaigns.

Specific duties include the management of content across the organisation’s communication tools, management of media campaigns, cultivation of media relations and contributing to development of TLC key messages.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the TLC’s communication channels; including publications, newsletters, direct marketing material, social media and online materials.
  2. Manage media relationships and opportunities, including developing and distributing information as the TLC’s central point of all external media communication.
  3. Coordinate all TLC advertising and marketing ensuring consistency across TLC programs e.g. fundraising campaigns and Revolving Fund advertisements.
  4. Source, research, write and edit copy for key communication tools to promote the TLC’s scientific programs, philanthropy and engagement programs (e.g. fundraising campaign, events and volunteering opportunities).
  5. Manage and work with the TLC’s photographic and moving images contractors and volunteers to expand the TLC’s digital image library and advise on the use of photography and video imagery in communications.
  6. Manage all TLC social media messaging on Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo/YouTube and Instagram and advise on the use of new digital communications solutions as required
  7. Maintain records and report on media returns, including press coverage, advertising and social media.
  8. Maintain, update and enhance the TLC’s website as required.
  9. Seek new opportunities and pathways to tell the TLC story and reach new audiences.
