The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board (TITEB) seeks a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Payroll and Assets Support Officer.

Based in Darwin NT, the position is a key support person within the Accounting and Finance team performing a range of administrative tasks with a focus on payroll and assets. The position entails having attention to detail, accurate record keeping and reconciliation skills.

This is a Fixed Term position of 6 months with a possibility of extension.

Key Duties

  1. Supporting the payroll function across the organisation
  2. Liaising with employees and service providers regarding payroll matters
  3. Assistance with monthly payroll reconciliations
  4. Maintaining the assets ledger
  5. Regular assets stocktake
  6. Other duties as directed by the CFO

Selection criteria:

1. A demonstrated knowledge of the CDP Contractual obligations and ability to interpret and apply current and emerging guidelines and procedures.
2. Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with clients, peers and relevant agencies
3. Sound computer literacy and data management skills
4. A high standard of verbal and written communication as evidenced by the proven ability to prepare correspondence and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
5. Proven ability to manage time and work load effectively to meet competing deadlines, and a commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
6. A demonstrated understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary Australian society.
7. Hold a Working with Children card and National Police Check or ability to obtain.
