Stretch-A-Family (SAF) is a not-for-profit organisation and we have been supporting families for over 40 years. We are an accredited Fostering and Community Placement agency and a Residential Care Provider for 0-25 year old children and young people who need out-of-home care. The Role

This fundamental position will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of SAFs residential programs. As well as the day to day operational performance of the program, you will also assist in the development of new programs currently in the pipeline.

  • Flexible length short term contract.
  • Enthusiasm to drive the strategic direction of the residential care programs.
  • Management experience with the ability to mentor staff and facilitate groups for success.
  • Provide regular and ongoing supervision to staff which is holistic and allows for reflection, growth and development.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a timely response to program reporting and auditing requests both internal and external.
  • Ability to remain calm in responding to emergent situations – this includes problem solving and making fast, effective and professional decisions in an inclusive and evidence-based manner.
  • Working confidently and capably using a practice framework that is child-centric and culturally sensitive.
  • Manage the program budget in line with established targets.

Your Credentials:

  • Degree Qualified (Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences or similar field)
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • A current national police check (or willing to obtain)
  • A current NSW Driver Licence
  • Practical experience in management (preferably with experience within in the Out of Home Care sector)
  • Experience in managing a program budget and able to develop professional management reports.
