Soap Aid addresses one of the most critical needs facing our world - the lack of proper hygiene in developing countries, resulting in millions of unnecessary deaths, more often children.
Additionally, Soap Aid helps in reducing landfill disposal by redirecting waste soap created by the hotel industry and distributing reprocessed soap to communities where there is fundamental lack of sanitation. Soap Aid saves lives!
The CEO is the principal representative of Soap Aid and works collaboratively with partners, donors, volunteers and other stakeholders to implement our mission by leading and developing policies, advocating those policies and being the voice of the Soap Aid community.
Working closely with the Board your main purpose is to engage effectively with key stakeholders to realise the organisation’s vision and directions, implement the strategic direction, enable fulfilment of governance functions, and provide organisational leadership and direction.
Your background should demonstrate an ability to inspire a sense of purpose and direction in an organisation or cause and strong ability to advocate and promote. You should be able to build and enhance relationships with stakeholders and have excellent communication skills including influencing ability and social media. You will be able to demonstrate success in developing and implementing a PR/media management strategy which will be essential for Soap Aid to further enhance its brand footprint and market share.
You will also have demonstrated experience in facilitating internal and external relationships with a network of key people to achieve cooperative relationships and partnerships and you will have been successful in developing submissions, grants or funding applications.
Key success measures will be enhancing our economic stability through increased income and grants, building strong partner relationships and driving growth domestically and for our international presence.
Considerable experience or understanding of the process involved in working with a Board of Directors, including effective communication, reporting, engagement and provision of quality and timely advice and support and experience in providing high-level strategic and operational leadership and management in a not for profit, government or commercial environment is vital.
You will easily engage diplomatically and consultatively and be self-directed, proactive and action-oriented, able to determine priorities with results focus. You will have strong conceptual and analytical skills and have demonstrated commercial acumen with financial literacy. A courageous leader open to change, you are able to deal resiliently with challenging circumstances.
It’s important you have a “not for profit” mind-set and the absolute willingness to give back and make a significant contribution to the organisation.
