We provide an environment where you'll be surrounded by highly talented and creative colleagues who are supportive and passionate people - and we have our share of good times and laughs as well!

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there's a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position based in our Carlton Head Office, you will work on the development and implementation of website designs and applications, and maintenance of Save the Children Australia web properties and digital platforms. You will be part of our Digital team and report to our Senior Manager of Digital.
You will make an impact by:

  • Implementing website designs and maintaining our web properties and digital platforms
  • Assisting in developing the best possible digital customer experience for our supporters
  • Providing insights into potential ways to optimise donation processing
  • Developing new user-facing web features and collaborating with other team members and stakeholders on website updates and adjustments

If we could compose the perfect you…

…You have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems, preferably both proprietary and open source. You enjoy the responsibility of interpreting and executing designs, and your strong interpersonal skills will mean you can effectively communicate with the digital team and stakeholders across the organisation. You're a problem solver who can adapt quickly to new web design and application trends, and you're comfortable working in fast paced environments. You'll be excited about the opportunity to be involved with a variety of tasks across the digital team, who are built on cross-training across specialities. Most importantly, you're an all-hands-on-deck type of person who is willing to go outside their area of speciality when needed.
This role requires:

  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services, such as APIs, REST, SOAP, and web user interface design (UI)
  • Proficient understanding of JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery and React, and of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Good working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them

  • Opportunity to work on additional projects alongside business as usual
  • Individual learning plans to assist in your career development
  • Friendly and flexible work environment including working from home
  • Child and pet friendly work environment
