Save the Children Australia is recruiting for a maternity relief cover Team Leader and Office Manager in Katherine. We need you to lead our dedicated team of Early Childhood Educators whilst overseeing the day to day administrative needs across the broad spectrum of requirements of Office Management. We are seeking someone who has a passion for assisting our communities' most vulnerable families who also possesses strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Where you come in:

In this full-time maternity cover position, commencing ideally in mid October 2019 and ending in July 2020, you will lead 4 qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educators, supporting them to deliver our Play2Learn Program in the Communities of Rockhole and Binjari as well as our town-based activities. You will be responsible for the operational running of activities, budget management and supporting your staff. You will be part of our NT Programs Team and report to our Katherine Regional Coordinator.

In this dual role, you will make an impact by:

  • Planning, developing and delivering early childhood programs that are tailored to community needs
  • Aligning staff activities to program and operational plans to ensure delivery of required activities
  • Supporting staff performance management and professional supervision, including performance appraisal, coaching and professional development
  • Processing financial acquittals, managing fleet vehicles and preparing reports for funding bodies

You have strong financial literacy, program delivery/management and organisational skills, and have experience leading successful teams. You have highly developed people skills and are motivated by achieving goals.

This role requires:

  • Certificate in Early Childhood and Care or similar early childhood qualification
  • Experience working with diverse and disadvantaged communities with an Early Years focus
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Proven leadership skills, the ability to nurture a cohesive team
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing skills
  • Current NT Ochre Card (Working With Children Check)
