The organisation:

The Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI) is an intermediary organisation positioned between the domains of policy, research and practice within child, youth and family services. We are a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to achieve the most desirable life outcomes for vulnerable children, families and communities through informed use of evidence in practice, programming and policy.

The role:

The Communications Manager is a newly created position, reporting to the COO, to support CEI's growing communications needs. The primary role of the Communications Manager is to develop, deliver and manage all of CEI's external and internal communications across a broad range of media for a wide range of audiences including funding partners, government, academics, practitioners and philanthropy / corporate market. The Communications Manager will also support CEI project teams by providing communications support to projects, reports, publications and other strategic CEI initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a communications strategy suitable for Australian, Singapore and UK-based audiences
  • Support the achievement of strategic initiatives through the development, and delivery of relevant content across online, social media, print and internal communications
  • Improve organisational communication effectiveness to support advocacy and strategic initiatives
  • Manage external vendor relationships including editorial and production processes
  • Plan and manage publication budgets
  • Develop and coordinate all communications to support CEI's 2020 conference event, The Evidence and Implementation Summit

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proven experience in communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, in particular, ability to write for a variety of audiences
  • Creative and strategic thinking and planning
  • Proven ability to understand and deliver on a range of stakeholder requirements, including in an event-planning scenario
  • High levels of attention to detail and quality
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Tertiary qualification/s in relevant discipline
