About the Role/s

Recruiting to four positions:

  • 2 x Positions working 15 hours per week
  • 1 x Position working 8 hours per week
  • 1 x Position working 24 hours per week

Reclink Australia works with the Department of Justice and Community Safety (JaCS) to deliver a diverse range of programs to the residents at public housing sites in Canberra and the broader ACT community aimed at improving the day to day lives of the residents of those public housing sites. These programs are funded through the Strong Connected Neighbourhoods Project (SCNP)

The objectives of the SCNP are to deliver events, activities and ongoing participation opportunities that:

  • Prevent or reduce opportunities for crime;
  • Promote community safety and security;
  • Develop pro-social and law-abiding community engagement;
  • Facilitate access to services that are related to justice, health, mental health, education and employment and
  • Improve the health outcomes for residents.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications from a recognised TAFE, College or University in Community Development, Social Welfare, Mental Health, Disability, Community Services or similar and/or a minimum of three year’s experience in the provision of direct support services to diverse clients with a particular emphasis on the area of community capacity building;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by marginalised groups specifically in relation to health and wellbeing.
  • Demonstrated experiencing in working with community service organisations;
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within community networks;
  • Work in consultation and in co-ordination with key community stakeholders and service providers in government and community sectors;
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and constructively in a team setting with minimal supervision;
  • Be a self-starter, reliable and able to work innovatively with diverse individuals and groups;
  • High level verbal communication skills;
  • High level of time management and organisational skills and capacity to work effectively within tight time constraints;
  • Possession of a current ACT driver’s licence and own vehicle is essential, with a good driving record;
  • A positive National Police Check and working with Vulnerable People Check/ Working with Children Check are mandatory;
  • Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry award 2010 (MA000100), as amended.
