About the role

We are currently recruiting two Gifts in Wills Coordinators to join our growing fundraising team at RSPCA Victoria. Both roles are based at our Animal Care Centre in Burwood East. The two roles available are:

  • A permanent full-time position
  • A 14-month fixed-term part-time parental cover position (4 days per week)

Gifts in Wills Coordinators support the development, promotion and growth of our significant Gifts in Wills Program, raising valuable income for RSPCA Victoria and enabling us to achieve our vision of ending cruelty to all animals, once and for all.

Your friendly, engaging nature, emotional intelligence and previous fundraising experience will see you develop strong, meaningful relationships with new and existing Gifts in Wills supporters. This fast-paced, friendly environment will have you working closely across all areas of the RSPCA Victoria team.

Our work in ending cruelty to all animals is dependent upon growing support and inspiring more and more people to remember RSPCA in their Wills. These roles play a critical part in engaging and inspiring our donors and talking with them about their support for RSPCA.

The salary range for these roles is between $70,592 – $79,416 per annum (pro-rata) inclusive of superannuation (currently 9.5%), depending upon the candidate’s level of skills, experience and knowledge associated with the role.

Roles, duties and responsibilities

The main focus of your time as a Gifts in Wills Coordinator will be on maintaining and nurturing positive relationships with our passionate supporters, whilst demonstrating empathy and building trust in work of the charity.

Other responsibilities for these roles include:

  • Engaging with supporters through phone calls, written communication and face-to-face engagement.
  • Accurate maintenance of supporter records and databases (iMIS).
  • Assessing, qualifying and classifying the level of interest and commitment from supporters to including a gift in their Will to RSPCA Victoria
  • Actively and systematically following-up perspective supporters to inspire them and secure their wonderful support for our organisation.
  • Providing high quality customer service to existing supports, solicitors and members of the public, including responding promptly to requests for information
  • Contributing towards the continuous improvement in the effectiveness of procedures, processes and techniques used within the Gifts in Wills Program
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment by effectively communicating and working collaboratively with peers across all departments, and consistently behaving in accordance with the RSPCA Victoria values and associated policies.

Skills and experience required

  • Demonstrated experience in building positive relationships with donors, supporters, or customers.
  • Thorough understanding of the principles of Gifts in Wills fundraising, solicitation and stewardship with demonstrated experience supporting and growing a contemporary Gifts in Wills program.
  • Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, best practices and philosophies of charitable giving.
  • Understanding of CRM database management and data-driven marketing best practice.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Gifts in Wills, Fundraising or Marketing courses and qualifications, attendance at Fundraising Institute Australia, Include a Charity or ADMA courses will be highly regarded.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a national police check.
