Our client is the professional body that represents arts therapists in Australia, New Zealand & APAC . It is a member based organisation that seeks to advocate for the profession and to ensure that the training and practice of professional members are in accordance with international best practice. The Board is seeking to appoint their next Executive Officer who will provide critical visionary and progressive leadership to ensure the achievement of the organisation's strategic goals across the Australasia and Pacific region. Reporting to and working closely with the Board the EO will be responsible for the development the organisation as a new entity to create and sustain a valued public profile and positively influence and build relationships and strong advocacy with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The six key areas of focus will be:

  • Realisation & development of both Strategic and Business Plans
  • Sustainable financial management including revenue growth
  • Manage policy and procedures including governance and compliance
  • Leadership and stewardship of the organization and all stakeholders including member and contracted staff
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Advocacy

In order to manage and deliver upon these critical areas this individual will need to be able to demonstrate their experience in a similar leadership role. It is essential that this person is able to engage the membership as well as lead a team and provide quality stewardship to the Board in the development of a strategic plan that will inform the day to day delivery of an effective and practical business plan. Strong fiscal management experience and skills across compliance and governance, revenue generation and building member value will be key as well as strong stakeholder engagement skills. An understanding and/or knowledge and experience of the allied health sector is preferred. This is a 'hands-on', role will be an initial 12 month part-time contract for 21 hours per week. It is anticipated that the role will be based in Melbourne, but this is flexible. Appropriate tertiary qualifications are required.
