The R.I.S.C. Association is a small, well regarded recreation service supporting men and women who have disabilities to participate actively in the community leisure activities of their choice.

All support is carried out in the Brisbane Northside suburbs and own transport is required.

Previous experience is not a requirement and training in disability support is given.

• A positive and proactive attitude to the rights of people with disabilities
• Personally valuing the benefits of active and interactive recreation to all members of the community

Expectations of the role:

• High level of communication and interaction with the person being supported
• Focus on assisting skill growth in recreation and independence skills
• Enthusiasm and self motivation to assist in the development of social and communication skills

We are looking for people who feel that they have well developed skills in the areas of communication, recreation and education that would be transferable to this field.

A car and a licence are requirements of these positions, as will the possession or willingness to attain a First Aid Certificate and criminal history screening.

Positions are paid on a casual basis as per the RISC certified Workplace Agreement. Pay rates range from $26 - $30 per hour dependant on skills and shifts. Applicants need to be able to commit for a minimum of 12 months and able to work 3 - 4 shifts per week (3- 5 hours per shift).
