An exciting new program is about to commence in Alice Springs and we are looking for support workers to provide client focused support to Aboriginal women in a residential setting.
The program is a pilot project that is targeted at Aboriginal women who are at risk of offending or re offending. A residential facility will be established to provide the courts and community with an alternative option to imprisonment for eligible Aboriginal women. Run within a culturally competent framework, it will include access to training and employment opportunities as well as tailored rehabilitation services. The program is primarily residential, based in Alice Springs, and will include working with the clients to build extended family support networks to help reach identified outcomes.
The Support Worker provides client focussed support to Aboriginal women involved or at risk of involvement with the justice system in a residential setting.

We are looking for people with ability and commitment to delivering culturally competent, strength-based and trauma-informed services to Aboriginal women in contact with the criminal justice system. You will be able to work independently with minimal supervision and must be able to demonstrate high levels of communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. This role will involve working within a 24/7 rostered schedule with a mixture of day, evening and sleepover shifts, including weekend, public holidays and the after-hours on call roster.
