FEAST is a new and exciting educational program designed by OzHarvest, to empower our children to be the change makers in their communities by improving their nutritional literacy, food waste awareness and impact on the environment. We’re looking for a vibrant and passionate Education Coordinator to coordinate the roll out of the FEAST program to primary schools across Queensland and support the delivery of the OzHarvest School and Community Engagement Offerings.

FEAST extends beyond the classroom, as students develop the skills to become change makers in the community. It embodies the OzHarvest purpose to build a world with zero food waste and free of hunger.

OzHarvest was founded by Ronni Kahn in 2004, who noticed the huge amount of delicious consumable food discarded every day. She decided there had to be a better way. OzHarvest now rescues surplus food to feed those in need all around Australia. We also educate the public and our clients about food waste, nutrition and living a healthier lifestyle.

Since Inception OzHarvest has achieved some great milestones:

  • Over 109 million meals delivered
  • Over 37,000 tonnes of food rescued
  • Over 1300 charities helped
  • $1 = 2 meals to those in need

Led and mentored by the inspirational Ronni Kahn, we are a passionate team of people who are driven by the purpose and the desire to bring the OzHarvest effect to life everyday.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the FEAST Program roll out to primary schools across Queensland
  • Facilitate FEAST Program Teacher Professional Development training
  • Development of new initiatives and engagement offerings together with the FEAST Program Manager
  • Ensure all Education Standards record keeping is kept up to date
  • Undertake administrative duties required for the position including maintaining comprehensive database records on OzHarvest's CRM system Salesforce, expenditure records and up-to-date filing
  • Represent OzHarvest as needed in stakeholder meetings and school presentations

To be considered for this opportunity our ideal candidate will have:

  • Diploma, Degree or higher in Education
  • Nutrition, Hospitality and/or Environmental Sustainability background
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Please note that you must have a current Police Check and a Working With Children Check (WWCC) employee status for this role.
