The Role

Reporting to the Events Fundraising and Marketing Manager, the Events Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the marketing strategy to drive individual and corporate participation to Oxfam Trailwalker events nationwide.

Working closely with state based Fundraising Coordinators and our digital team, to ensure increased lead generation and conversion to grow recruitment and net income across the Events portfolio.

This role will work across four event campaigns using multiply channels, EDM, SMS and telemarketing to increase participation while creating positive supporter journeys for potential participants, The role will focus on improving retention rates, conversion rates and gaining higher corporate support (participation, sponsorship, inter-industry competition and matched giving) and other initiatives including supporting volunteering recruitment.

They will also contribute to leveraging the Events portfolio, to build the life-time value of the supporter base for Oxfam Australia.

This position plays an important role in ensuring that all Oxfam’s fundraising events positively and accurately reflect the work, values and vision of Oxfam Australia.

A little about you (the key selection criteria)

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • Contributing to the development and supporting implementation of a Marketing Strategy and promotional activities providing detailed analysis of results, including performance against registration targets, recommending areas for improvement and identify avenues for further development
  • Writing and building segmented recruitment email and sms campaigns to segmented audience and using data analysis to manage the success of these campaigns.
  • Using digital tactics to increase social engagement, retargeting individuals online and building a lead generation campaign, including monitoring conversion rates and results
  • Developing and implementing a Corporate Engagement Strategy, leading on stewardship and solicitation of existing and prospective events corporate sponsors – increasing this revenue stream
  • Determining, developing and managing production of marketing materials and creating success measures and processes for continual assessment and improvement
  • A degree in marketing, fundraising, or communications or relevant experience
