About the Role

We are seeking a suitably qualified Physiotherapist to join our team to provide part-time professional and holistic therapy assessment and intervention services to participants of the Onemda Association Allied Health Service.

The Onemda Allied Health department is a new, exciting and innovative service arm of our well-established and reputable not for profit disability organisation. You will be employed as an integral part of a small and growing team of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. You will actively manage a diverse and challenging clinical caseload of predominantly young adults ranging from mild intellectual disability through to multiple and profound physical and intellectual disability. Your team will deliver a holistic, client centred and flexible therapy program, supporting our participants and their families to achieve their full potential.

Your day to day tasks include:

  • Providing evidence based professional and holistic physiotherapy assessment, intervention and evaluation services to Onemda participants
  • Developing and delivering individual and group based water and land based exercise programs
  • Supporting participants and their families to identify and prioritise goals and intervention to maximise outcomes within available resources
  • Developing and implementing discipline specific and interdisciplinary therapy treatment goals and implementation
  • Undertaking discipline specific activities in accordance with relevant therapy needs
  • Report writing and administration as required

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications as a physiotherapist
  • Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a practicing physiotherapist
  • Eligibility for membership with Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA)
  • Experience and/or special interest in the development and implementation of hydrotherapy and aquatic exercise programs
  • Skills and experience relevant to the position description (recent graduates will be considered)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of varied allied health team professional roles and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of family centred approaches
