We are seeking a talented Campaign Coordinator for the upcoming Federal Election.

The role of the Campaign Coordinator is to implement the NT Greens 2019 Federal Election Ground Campaign Strategy. Implementing this strategy is to be done in a way that adheres to core Green values. The position will work closely with the NT Greens Election Campaign Committee (ECC), party members, Regional Campaign Working Groups, and Federal Candidates.

The position works under the general direction of the ECC, through the ECC Convenor.

Priority tasks for the Campaign Coordinator will include coordination of on-the-ground campaign activities and logistics. Other responsibilities will include ensuring the campaign complies with Australian electoral law, support of Federal Candidates, and supporting campaign volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Attend and participate in weekly ECC meetings and work in close collaboration with the ECC and Regional Working Groups at all times.
  • Develop and maintain a roster of campaign volunteers.
  • Coordinate the production of campaign materials, including corflutes, flyers, How-to-Vote cards, and Greens merchandise.
  • Coordinate volunteers to assist with the distribution and deployment of campaign materials.
  • Coordinate volunteers for attending polling booths to distribute HTV cards.
  • Book advertising via TV, newspaper, radio and social media.
  • Compile a report at the end of the election campaign that details recommendations for future election campaigns in the Northern Territory.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian electoral law.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  1. Understanding of and commitment to NT Greens principles and policies.
  2. Understanding of the Australian and Northern Territory political landscape.
  3. Demonstrated ability to coordinate short-term projects or campaigns, including setting goals, implementing project/campaign timelines, and delegating tasks.
  4. Demonstrated experience working with and coordinating volunteers.
  5. Demonstrated experience securing advertising on different media platforms, including TV, newspaper, radio and social media.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Desirable

  1. Previous election campaign experience
  2. A valid Driver’s Licence
  3. A valid Ochre Card
