Macular disease is the leading cause of vision loss and blindness in Australia. The Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) is an independent, national, for purpose organisation whose mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of macular disease in Australia. The Foundation is recognised as a world leader in raising awareness of macular degeneration. MDFA has four key pillars of work:  prevention and early detection, supports for people living with or at risk of macular disease, advocacy for the macular disease community and an innovative medical and social impact research grants program.

Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) is at an exciting time in its evolution; with a skilled board, recently appointed CEO, expert staff and volunteers and a new strategic plan and direction. The organisation is highly respected and has a proven track record for excellence. It is well positioned to grow and expand its reach under the guidance of an experienced and commercially astute leader.

The organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Services Manager who will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across finance, HR, risk management, quality, compliance, IT/business systems and strategic projects to support the organisation’s overarching strategy.

You will be methodical in ensuring efficient and effective internal management processes and practices so that MDFA business units can work with agility and optimise technology. As Company Secretary you will work with the CEO to support the Board and Audit and Risk Committee and will also be responsible for management of strategic partnership agreements.

Whilst a background in the not-for-profit sector could be an advantage, it is not essential, but you will need to demonstrate / articulate your interest in this sector and knowledge of the challenges and operational needs.
