About the Role

As a Team Leader you will be responsible for coordinating the day to day running of a range of client supports whilst providing quality, hands on support to People with Disability in order to achieve their individual goals. 

The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing ongoing guidance, mentoring and training to a team of Disability Support Workers to ensure that a high standard of support and care for clients is achieved. We are seeking candidates who have previous experience in the management of clients with epilepsy, autism and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination and management of the daily operations of the disability programs;
  • Develop and monitor high quality health care plans for Life Without Barriers clients;
  • Provide supervision and support to Disability Support Workers;
  • The identification and development of community resources that can be used by our clients;
  • Ensuring a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with Life Without Barriers WH&S systems, policies and procedures;
  • Undertaking, with direction from the Program Manager, administrative responsibility for the service;
  • Provide services in accordance with funding agency standards and agreements;
  • Represent the organisation and maintain harmony within the managed services;
  • Undertake rostering of support workers under the direction of the Program Manager.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Disability or similar or equivalent relevant experience
  • Previous experience working within disability services
  • Demonstrated experience supporting clients with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals, families and/or groups from a strength-based culturally appropriate perspective
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and attributes
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills.
