About the role

Provide high quality clinical advice to children in care, clients with disabilities and/or mental health issues.

Life Without Barriers is experiencing a significant period of growth and need enthusiastic, committed Behaviour Support practitioners to work with our vulnerable clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical knowledge, advice and consultancy to managers and support staff to support clients in a  range of programs
  • Provide assessments of clients’ cognitive and learning abilities, living skills, emotional and mental health status and behavioural profile
  • Develop and monitor intervention plans and strategies
  • Provide training and support to carers and staff regarding therapeutic support
  • Review placement opportunities and skill development of children and young people in out of home care 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Social Work
  • Registration with the relevant professional body
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and planning intervention for clients under 18 years of age who exhibit a range of behaviours
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing client-centred/family-centred interventions
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in administration of a range of cognitive and adaptive behaviour assessment tools is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioural support

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
