About the organisation

Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 7,000 employees working in more than 440 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.

We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.

About the program

We are part of an exciting new initiative, implementing a home-based, intensive, multi-disciplinary  family preservation model Multi-systemic Therapy-Child Abuse & Neglect (MST-CAN).

The program seeks to keep families together and ensure that children are safe, while addressing the causes to maltreatment - substance misuse treatment, improving mental health, addressing the impact of trauma, improving parental functioning and increasing social supports.

This is an internationally recognised program, specifically designed to treat 6-17 year olds and their families. The program supports all family members to be involved with treatment, which reduces the risk of children entering out-of-home care.  The program has a strong commitment to support and further strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander families.
