About the Role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of people with a disability.

We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers who are experienced at working with children and young adults who display challenging behaviours. Experience with epilepsy management, clients who are non-verbal, vision impaired or self-injurious will be highly regarded.

The successful candidates will be supporting clients ranging in ages from 11 to 25 who are living in Supported Independent Living Homes across the Western Suburbs of Sydney, including:

  • Minto
  • Blacktown
  • Leppington
  • Girraween
  • Castle Hill
  • Rossmore

 As our services are 24/7, candidates will ideally be available to flexibly work across a range of shifts including active night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day care (including personal care) and supervision
  • Community access & transport
  • Maintaining & monitoring Person Centred Plans
  • Documenting & progress note keeping 

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Certificate III Community Welfare, Disability or similar
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Experience supporting children and young people who display challenging behaviours
  • Epilepsy Management experience will be highly regarded
  • Experience working with clients who are non-verbal, vision impaired or self-injurious will be highly regarded.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
