About the Role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability. Clients will include adults and children with high medical needs, challenging behaviours, physical and intellectual disabilities, mental health issues and aged care.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment during their daily activities.

Please note – you must be prepared to travel to remote communities in and around Derby and Fitzroy Crossing. Also required to work various shifts throughout the week and weekend, some positions may include active nights/Sleepovers. Permanent part-time roles will be guaranteed a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist our clients in day to day living including cooking, house-keeping, personal care, hygiene, shopping etc.
  • Assist our clients  to maintain independence and community networks
  • Comply with OH&S & Infection Control Management protocols
  • Provide a person centred approach 
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with Clients, families and stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability or similar 
  • Provide First Aid Certificate (to be completed prior to commencing employment)
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Strong Computer literacy skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a productive member of the team.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to offer of employment.
