House with No Steps (HWNS) have a new in-house Learning & Development Facilitator role working in Victoria to support the transition of government services to HWNS, a not for profit NDIS provider. Work location flexible and based on office locations in Victoria.

Reporting to the national Learning & Development Manager you will be part of a team of professionals working collaboratively to address training needs and support staff to learn and use what they learn on-the-job. You will deliver engaging training programs to staff working with people with disabilities and be responsible for leading the delivery of mandatory training, business critical systems training and designing responsive training to meet customer needs. HWNS also has an RTO and you may be involved in training and coordinating disability specific qualifications and short courses.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Delivering consistent, engaging, contextualised and memorable training materials
  • Coordinate, schedule & promote mandatory training and learning resources
  • Consult with managers and practice leaders to identify training needs and deliver responsive training or facilitated learning workshops, including collaborating with specialist external training providers as needed.
  • Work with managers to identify suitable staff to undertake qualifications and supports them to succeed
  • Report on regional training attendance & mandatory training completion rates

Selection criteria and experience required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a trainer, or experience supporting people with a disability
  • Current Cert IV TAE essential
  • Qualifications and/or competence in mandatory training topics/policy and qualifications (Cert III Individual Support, Cert IV Disability, Cert IV Leadership & Management or Diploma Community Services in particular).
  • Experience in development, implementation and evaluation of training programs, desirable
  • Experience in adapting learning resources and training to learner needs
  • Demonstrated competence in facilitating group and individual learning
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and those who support them, either as a support worker or manager, highly desirable
  • Experience working in a similar role with Department Health and Human Services highly desirable
  • Confident and articulate and ability to build rapport with learners
  • Well organised, with demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritise workload, follow up and work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines
  • Well-developed computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point and LMS; including the capacity to learn new systems
  • Passionate about supporting others to learn and improve the way they work.
  • Australian driver’s license, good driving record, ability to travel interstate as required.
