Metro Community Housing is a community-based housing association based in the Inner West area of Sydney. The team at Metro housing have a strong reputation in the Not-For-Profit sector as a tier two provider working to strengthen the community through the provision of safe and secure housing for those in need.

Due to an internal promotion, Metro Housing is currently seeking an enthusiastic Receptionist / Administration Officer to join their close-knit team on a part-time basis of up to 30 hours per week. The Receptionist is responsible for the provision of professional, timely and accurate service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Receptionist is responsible for:

  • Face-to-face and telephone client liaison including providing fundamental advice, taking phone messages and re-directing calls;
  • Receiving, receipting and lodging payments;
  • Electronic and hard-copy filing of compliance, financial and administrative paperwork in client files;
  • Providing generalist support to new enquirers to the service and assessing eligibility for programs; and
  • Accurate and prompt data entry.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • The ability to adjust communication style to suit a diverse range of backgrounds and people;
  • Good time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task;
  • Ability to work independently and as an active member of the team;
  • Intermediate (or above) in the Microsoft Suite and rapid uptake on custom programs and databases;
  • Typing speed of 45+ wpm;
  • Prior experience in a Receptionist / Administration Officer role.
